Music Public Relations / Marketing Intern

Missing Piece Group is a music public relations, marketing and artist management company. We work with artists, labels and managers from major to self-release, representing a wide range of genres. We are located in downtown Newark, a short walk from Newark Penn Station, Newark Broad Street Station, The Prudential Center and Rutgers Newark. (Due to COVID-19, internships will be conducted remotely until it is safe to return to the office)

 Responsibilities may include:

• Researching target audiences and contacts for artist tours, news blasts, track & album premieres etc.

• Organizing contact lists for marketing and publicity pitches

• Writing publicity/marketing pitches and press releases

• Social media management

• Developing and implementing content calendars

• Sales, streaming, and social media tracking / reporting / analysis.

• Assisting with company mailings

• Research and outreach to social media influencers and playlisters

• Plus more!

Requirements:

• Must have efficient email, writing, administrative and organizational skills

• Good research skills are a must

• Ability to work independently

• Professional demeanor

• Innate understanding of music media landscape and social network channels

• Proficient with Word, Excel, Google Docs, Twitter, Facebook

• Experience with Photoshop, HTML and web design not required, but helpful

• Passion for music and a desire to work in the music industry

• Must be able to bring your own laptop
